Sure, we all love a good slow jam—the kind that makes you bite your lip and sway a little. But this one’s got no sax solos… just a silky, complex coffee experience you’re about to fall hard for.
We’re excited to offer Edgar Cosigua, a small-lot stunner from our friends at Deeper Roots that uses a unique processing method called “Slow Jam.” Grown at Finca San Jeronimo Miramar in Guatemala, this coffee gets its name from a unique twist on the honey process. Fermentation starts, then gets interrupted by de-pulping and slow patio drying—creating a cup that’s smooth, layered, and just a little bit unexpected.
This particular lot comes from Edgar Cosigua, the longtime mill manager at Finca San Jeronimo and a quietly brilliant grower in his own right. Over the years, he’s been developing his own small plots—and the quality speaks for itself. This coffee is the result of that care, creativity, and a whole lot of experience.
We’re thrilled to bring this standout cup to the neighborhood. Smooth, rich, and begging to be savored—Edgar Cosigua is the slow jam that hits just right.
Not in the mood for a slow jam? How about something more bright and breezy?
Check out our Gatta Honey—it’s also honey-processed, but follows a simpler, more traditional path: no fermentation tanks, just sweet, sticky coffee dried on raised beds. It’s tropical, citrusy, and tea-like—a perfect choice if you’re after clarity and fruit-forward vibes without the deeper, fermented complexity of Edgar Cosigua.
Our taste testers all agreed—Deeper Roots was the coffee we wanted to carry at City Vittles. If you’re from Cincinnati, you probably already know their name. They’ve been roasting incredible coffee right here in the city for over a decade, and they’ve built a reputation for thoughtful sourcing, deep relationships with producers, and a relentless focus on freshness, quality, and flavor. We pick up each batch directly from their roastery in Downtown Cincinnati and bring it back to our neighborhood to share with you.
