Rich, real, ridiculously good.

If you know me, you know maple syrup is my go-to sweetener. I drizzle it daily on yogurt and oatmeal—and have even stirred it into tea when I ran out of honey from the Westwood Farmers Market. I haven’t tried all the suggestions from the back of Bonhomie's jug yet (sweet potato, squash, and even grapefruit), but why not stretch the boundaries of maple syrup drizzling?

This has been my favorite syrup in all of Ohio for years, and I’m so excited to be able to offer it to the neighborhood.

Bonhomie Acres has been making syrup on the same land in Fredericktown since the 1800s. Their trees—many over 250 years old—have witnessed generations of syrup-making. Today, the fifth generation of the Brown family continues the tradition, drawing sap from over 4,500 trees across 120 acres using modern tubing systems and time-honored care.

Their syrup is everything I love about real maple: rich, complex, and deeply flavorful. You can taste the 40 gallons of sap it takes to make each gallon of syrup. It’s a jug of Ohio heritage—slow-boiled with intention and bottled with pride. This stuff has traveled the world, won awards, and even earned William Brown a spot in the North American Maple Producers Hall of Fame (the only Ohioan ever inducted!).

Whether you keep it classic with pancakes and waffles or get a little creative, this is one of those pantry staples that makes everything better.
